Stress

One to One Therapy Counselling

Stress is how you feel when you are not sure you can meet the current demands of life. That can be in personal-life, work-life or both. In relation to stress the lines between these areas can become blurred.

Stress is a normal part of life and can be perceived as negative or positive. When stress motivates us to get things done, we can interpret it as positive but if stress begins to produce distressing symptoms it can be seen as negative.

Stress symptoms: do you suffer from?

  • Tense muscles

  • Teeth grinding

  • Rapid heartbeat

  • Headaches Feeling agitated or irritated easily

  • Sweating

  • Sleeping problems

  • Appetite changes ( over or under eating)

  • Racing thoughts

  • Upset stomach

Each individual will feel the effects of stress differently. It is therefore important to understand what is your 'normal' baseline level of stress and how you cope with it. Recognising and managing stress early will help and prevent it leading to more serious problems.
